“Five husbands I’ve had. It’s a fact! I’ve had that many. All okay in their way. As good as any.”

A Knight, a Merchant, a Judge, two Nuns and a Monk set off towards a shrine. Sounds like the start of joke? It is! In order to occupy themselves on the journey, the wacky, witty and wasted pilgrims entertain each other with hilarious antics.

Bring your lunch, grab a jug of mead, and join us for the original road movie packed with bawdy and raucous fun.

Dating back to the 1300s, this towering literary masterpiece is given a fresh, boisterous and modern twist by the faction theatre co. acclaimed for their clarity of storytelling and trademark visual inventiveness. This 45-minute version is part of the Bridewell Theatre’s highly successful Lunchbox Theatre programme.
